Creating Inclusive Digital Space Through Information Architecture

There is a large & messy challenge that comes with needing to share different types of information with different audiences in a single space, especially when one of those audiences is underserved. There have been countless (and important) efforts to create accessible content on the web in regards to differently-abled folx, but the conversation about creating accessible content for the LGBTQ+ populations is just beginning. Using The National Center for Transgender Equality as an example, we will walk through how language & hierarchy can make a site more accessible to different audiences with varying levels of understanding & sensitivity.
Clair is an Information Architect working at Logic Dept. They are passionate about finding solutions to complex problems. Clair is also an advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusive research.

Inclusive Assistive Technology Design for People With Disabilities

and Paul Tudisco, Inventor of the Limitless Stylus
Peter & Paul will be touching upon their processes when designing for audiences who may have disabilities. There are many reasons why including people with disabilities in the design of technology is beneficial. We will explain why this is the best approach, & how to most effectively do so.
Paul Tudisco is the inventor of the Limitless Stylus, a device that helps people with mobility challenges use touch screen Technology. Peter Cobb is the Director of Community Outreach for ADAPT Community Network.
