An entrepreneur, investor, business leader, & rocket-scientist, Sylvia Acevedo is the author of Path to the Stars: My Journey from Girl Scout to Rocket Scientist, which tells the story of her journey from the Las Cruces, New Mexico to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, & then onto executive positions at Apple, Dell, IBM & other leading tech companies. During the Obama administration, she was a Commissioner of the White House initiative for Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
Acevedo most recently served as CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, which supports more than 2.5 million girls worldwide & generates more than $800 million annually through its iconic cookie program to support local Girl Scouting.
