ABSTRACT
IBM Watson Visual Recognition understands an image's content out-of-the-box. Watson provides pre-trained models that enable you to analyze images for objects, faces, colors, food, explicit content & other subjects for insights into your visual content. Come join us in this hand's on workshop to learn how to use these pre-built classifiers & additionally create custom classifiers in Watson Studio for your domain & use case. We will build an electron desktop application that will identify an image using your own classifier. The application will additionally use CouchDB/Cloudant for storage & OpenWhisk/IBM Cloud Functions to trigger visual analysis. Don't forget to bring your laptops to follow along with the speaker!
Developers will learn:
1. Introduction to visual recognition & IBM Watson Studio
2. Clone & run the electron application
3. Create Cloudant database for storage
4. Create IBM Cloud Functions & appropriate triggers & rules
5. Specify your own custom classifier in the application
