The summit includes workshops to build skills, a fireside chat about unique opportunities in NYC, & a discussion about the power of investment in non-traditional founders. Participants will also meet the current class of startups at the Zahn Center. This exciting event is brought to you in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Tech + Innovation as part of Open Data Week, NYCEDC, Silicon Harlem, & Futureworks. While the exact timeline & speakers will be available soon, here's a breakdown of what to expect at the Summit: Hack the Future Workshops Each of the workshops fall into an overall theme, & the themes reflect our four competition tracks. Social Entrepreneurship - Measuring Sustainable Impact Women in Tech - Negotiation in a Biased Environment Hardware - Design for Manufacturing & Contacting Manufacturers Software - Using Open Data in Your App Fireside Chat with a Special Guest A conversation about why NYC has chosen to invest in tech, & what the city plans for the future. Panel Discussion Inspired by Raj Chetty's research on Lost Einsteins, this panel will discuss why it's important to invest in marginalized entrepreneurs. The panel features venture capitalists, incubator leaders, & other organizations who are making the investment in a new future of entrepreneurship.
