Patrick Barry is COO & CFO of Octave Group. Prior to the launch of Octave Group, Mr. Barry served TouchTunes as COO & CFO for 7 years. With more than 25 year of experience with leading companies in the digital media, online retail, publishing & restaurant industries, Mr. Barry was a founding member of Bluefly.com, former CFO & COO of Audible & CFO of Warner Music Enterprises.
Mr. Barry is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School & received his MBA from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business with a concentration in finance.
DemetriosDounis, Partner, The Compass Group
As one of the key members of the Acquisitions Team, Mr. Dounis works on all facets of the deal process including building relationships with investment banks & intermediaries, evaluating new potential subsidiary companies, & when appropriate, negotiating directly with sellers & their advisors. Mr. Dounis is very involved in building strong working relationships with the management team partners of current Compass Diversified Holdings subsidiary companies & enjoys helping them grow their respective businesses.
Mr. Dounis joined The Compass Group in 2007. Prior to that, he was with UBS & Deloitte & Touche. He currently serves as a director for Arnold Magnetic Technologies, Crosman & Clean Earth. Mr. Dounis is also a Certified Public Accountant & a CFA Charterholder. He is a graduate of Rutgers University & the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Philip P. Ianniello,Managing Director, Regional Investment Banking - Northeast, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Philip P. Ianniello is a Managing Director in Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Regional Investment Banking Group, covering the Northeast Region, based in Boston.
Phil joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in May 2017 after 15 years with Needham & Company, a growth-focused investment bank, where he was co-head of Investment Banking prior to his departure. Phil started his career in the TMT investment banking group of Bear, Stearns & Co., working in the firm's New York office. During his career, Phil has executed over 150 financing & M&A transactions, primarily for middle market clients.
Phil received his BSBA in Finance with honors from Georgetown University. He lives in Newton, MA with his wife & three children. Phil is active with YearUp Boston & The Jimmy Fund program of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Jessica Lin, Co-Founder & Partner, Work-Bench
Jessica is a Co-Founder & Partner at Work-Bench, focusing on investments in future of work & teams. Jessica previously was a Learning & Development Manager at Cisco Systems, where she worked with the Engineering organization on Agile transformation, innovation & culture. Jessica is a graduate of Harvard University & developed Harvard's first aspirational design & experiential education summer fellowship program in Cape Town, South Africa & Paris, France.
Jessica is passionate about growing & supporting the women in enterprise tech community, launching our Navigate Women in Enterprise Tech Summitand our Founders of Enterprise Startups (Who Are Women) Database.Jessica is actively involved with the education & workforce development community in New York City, as an advisor to LaGuardia Community College & a longtime GED educator.Jessica has spoken at conferences & events for Dreamforce, SAP,Gainsight,Columbia University, Kauffman Fellows, & has been featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, & more.Jessica received a BA from Harvard University in Government & African Studies.
Jeff Pedersen, Operating Partner, Stripes Group
Jeff focuses on supporting & adding value to our portfolio companies in several ways including: building finance leadership & teams, improving operational results & strategy, establishing supply chain operations, putting in place proper systems & controls, assisting with key lender efforts, & setting up & ensuring quality of financial reporting & administration. Jeff also plays a key role in our evaluation of new investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Stripes, Jeff was Chief Financial Officer of Handy, a leading NYC-based company that provides an online marketplace for household services. During his time at Handy, the business experienced rapid growth & scale with Jeff leading a capital raise of more than $65 million from top-tier investors. Prior to Handy, Jeff spent six years at Amazon, nine years at Dell & seven years at IBM in a variety of senior operating & finance roles that included Worldwide Supply Chain, Operational Effectiveness, Financial Planning & Analysis, Controllership & much more. In his most recent role at Amazon, Jeff was the Head of Hardlines Finance, an area that he grew from $11 billion in annual sales to $40 billion in three years. In addition, Jeff steered Amazon's savings project to improve annual free cash flow by more than $1 billion, which helped drive the company to profitability.
Jeff currently lives in Westchester County with his wife, three children, & rescue black lab Chloe. He enjoys traveling, live music, spending time with his family, being on or near water, & watching sports (baseball, football, & hockey). Jeff was born & raised in Iowa, where his Dad passed on his love for the game & the New York Yankees. He still has a soft spot in his heart for the Seattle Seahawks & has no plans to give up his season tickets anytime soon. And yes, they should have ran the ball.
