1. LESA MITCHELL

Managing Director at Techstars

Lesa is Managing Director at Techstars Kansas City, a worldwide network that helps tech entrepreneurs connect with other experts, mentors, alumni, investors, & corporate partners who will help their companies grow. Techstars portfolio includes more than 1,500 companies with a market cap of $13.9 Billion. Techstars operates three divisions: Techstars Startup Programs, Techstars Mentorship-Driven Accelerator Programs, & Techstars Corporate Innovation Partnerships.

Her career has included roles as a corporate executive, entrepreneur, & consultant to multi-national corporations expanding their innovation footprints. For 10 years Lesa was VP Innovation & Networks at the Kauffman Foundation where she designed, implemented, & scaled models focused on initiating new markets & recovering markets in support of economic growth.

Lesa is an Advisor for Modern Meadow (NYC), CapLinked (LA), Neighborly (SF), & Copia (SF).

Lesa is a long time Sr. Fellow at Milken Institute & is on the Board of Directors at the Althea Foundation in San Francisco.

2. GRANT WEICHANG

Investment Analyst at SOSV

Grant Weichang is an investment analyst at SOSV, a venture accelerator running investment programs for hardware (HAX), robotics, & connected devices. SOSV has $700M+ in assets under management & provides seed, venture, & growth-stage funding to startups. Over the past 20 years, the firm has funded over 900 startups & currently to fund over 150 startups per year.

Weichang's responsibilities include sourcing deals, evaluating investment opportunities, & managing the portfolio for the SOSV fund. In addition, he also works with startups in the HAX program as well as the ones already graduated from the program to support their business needs & fundraising plans.

Previously, Weichang worked at various venture capital firms both in China & in the U.S. A. He is a technology enthusiast & is passionate about innovations across borders.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in NanoEngineering from the University of California at San Diego & a Master of Science degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Columbia University.

3. SEAN SIMONS

Program Manager at Newark Venture Partners

Sean Simons is Program Manager at NVP Labs, a bridge-to-seed accelerator program at Newark Venture Partners, a company that invests in early-traction B2B businesses. NVP has a direct investment arm, investing up to $1 million in seed & Series A companies, & NVP Labs, a bridge-to-seed accelerator arm, which invests in up to 10 companies twice a year.

Sean is involved with investment research & NVP Labs portfolio management in addition to working with Labs founders in support of their business development needs. Sean also manages a team of BDRs that are assigned to each startup.

Sean's personal interests include ice hockey, history, & the outdoors.

He received a B.S. in Management from Quinnipiac University.
