The theme of the night is What I Truly Desire
Think a sexy story, or a story about sex that isn't sexy at all. Or maybe passion: when you discovered it, or when it discovered you. Think your desire-for the physical, the emotional, the calorie-ridden, the overpriced: whatever makes you think I MUST MAKE YOU MINE. Or maybe your first kiss, or your last kiss, or the kiss you never had, or the kiss you always wanted. This month, we're talking about desire, for whatever, whoever, whenever. Join us for a truly sizzling evening.
GenerationWomenis a cross-generational storytelling night in New York City. Each month, fivewomenof note read an original piece on a theme. Of thosewomen, one is in her 20s, her 30s, her 40s, her 50s, & her 60s+.GenerationWomencelebrates & amplifieswomen's voices & creativity. Our diverse line-ups will make you laugh, cry, & think. Team 30:Piera Gelardiis a co-founder of Refinery29, & is consistently motivated by her brand's mission: To be a catalyst for women to see, feel, & claim their power. Gelardi is one ofEntrepreneurmagazine's 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs, & one ofAdweeks 37 Women Who Are Disrupting the Status Quo & Championing Gender Diversity.She also sits on the board of the Lower Eastside Girls Club.
Team 40:Kathleen McKitty Harrisis a writer whose work has appeared in Creative Nonfiction, McSweeney's, The Rumpus, & Vela Magazine, among others. Her essay, A Timeline of Human Female Development, appears in the anthologyMy Body, My Words, & she is a regular at Moth Storyslams.
Team 50:Peternelle van Arsdaleis an independent book editor, essay & short story writer, & the author of two novels for young adults-The Beast Is an AnimalandThe Cold Is in Her Bones-that have been described as dark fairy tales. She's now at work on her third novel.
Team 60:ComedianRhonda Hansomeis a regular guest on the John Fugelsang SiriusXM show Tell Me Everything.She took her Divorced & Bitter Tour to Tel Aviv, entertained US troops in Korea,played Bermuda inPretty Woman,and has starred inLouie,SNLandThe London Underground.
Team 80:Piri Halaszis a New York-born art critic, journalist, art historian, & teacher.
