ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Joanne Lin- Senior Investment Associate, Newark Venture Partners
Joanne has a unique blend of experience, including investment banking, private equity/venture capital & entrepreneurship. She has sourced, vetted & supported seed & growth stage investments in companies transforming the higher education space. Joanne is also the Co-Founder of a Newark-based social enterprise called Locus Labs, with a goal of expanding community access to digital manufacturing technology.
Meredith Finn- VP, Salesforce
Meredith Finn is a Vice President for Salesforce focused on leading strategic & impact investments in companies that complement Salesforce's ecosystem. Meredith has led over 40 strategic investments on behalf of Salesforce including Ellevest, Andela, Twilio, Anaplan, Optimizely, Pendo, & Cogito. Before joining Salesforce Ventures, Meredith worked in finance at Twitter & Google, & as a technology & media investment banker at Evercore Partners & Citigroup. Her experience includes venture investing, buy-side & sell-side M&A, LBO, IPO, & strategic corporate finance & advisory roles. Meredith has an AB in Economics from Harvard University & an MBA with Honors from Columbia Business School.
Maya Baratz- Managing Director of Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs Accelerator, Powered by Techstars
Maya is a longtime startup advisor & a recent Harvard University Nieman Fellow with a deep footing in & passion for consumer products. She has led the strategy & development of new-to-market digital products & revenue streams, most recently as the Head of New Product Strategy & Development at Disney/ABC Television and, prior to that, as a product & media executive for companies including The Wall Street Journal, MTV, Flickr & Monster.com. Maya has also written extensively about technology & startups for publications including Fortune, Fast Company, Newsweek, & The Wall Street Journal, among others. Additionally, she has created & led a product development course at institutions including Columbia Business School & General Assembly.

In her role, Natalie supports the growth of Seed & Series A companies & manages SVB's strategic partnerships with New York-based VC funds, accelerators, universities, & angel investors. Prior to joining SVB, Natalie went through Y-Combinator leading operations for Vive, an on-demand services company & worked as a strategist for IBM Watson. She started her career in IBM's Mergers & Acquisitions practice focused on M&A within the semiconductor & medical devices industries.
