EVENT DETAILS |
Cleantech Council delegates meet monthly to discover startups & innovation across clean, green, & sustainable technologies & build community with colleagues from like-minded corporations committed to paving the road to a sustainable future through partnership. This month, we open our meeting to the public, as we look at the innovation in Battery Tech.
Renewable energy will succeed in tandem with electricity storage - both big-scale storage & smaller scale, daily-cycle, & distributed storage where batteries are still the go-to solution. Stationary batteries have different requirements than automotive, with fewer constraints, which opens the door for different chemistries & formats.
Lithium Ion batteries are just 25 years into their commercialization, but have already provided incredible advancements in power storage, portability, & reliability. But we are only just beginning to see their value as a part of a renewable energy grid. As electricity generation shifts from fossil fuels to renewables, we're going to see a growing follow-on demand for battery storage solutions. And that's not just idle speculation, our friends in Australia are demonstrating the technical capabilities, but also the ROI for a renewable/battery powered grid. This proven ROI will, in turn, underwrite massive R&D & innovation in new battery solutions.
The Cleantech Council's battery meeting will discuss a number of battery innovation categories, as well as meet some of the companies providing the future solutions, such as:
Grid forming, as opposed to grid following batteries
High-speed, high-capacity inverters
Distributed grid storage, Industrial partners
Home battery units, grid-tied, & off-grid
Software & system control solutions
Dendrite reduction, other Lithium Ion battery improvements
Solid-state batteries
Other battery chemistries
Lithium Ion (nickel-cobalt-aluminum)
LiFePO4 (LFP)
Aluminum air
Sodium-ion
Fluoride-ion (ex: ZnTiF6)
Join us as we uncover the big near-term changes in energy storage at our Batteries meeting. We'll discuss the advances in stationary batteries, from home-sized to grid-scale. Get set to meet the companies creating innovative chemistries, products, & technologies that will support the renewable energy revolution.
