About Sandoz & the Sandoz HACk - Healthcare Access Challenge: Sandoz is a global leader in generic pharmaceuticals & biosimilars. As a division of the Novartis Group, their purpose is to pioneer new ways to improve access to medicines. Through Sandoz HACk, they use their expertise to support ideas that improve access to healthcare in local communities. Following a submission of more than 400 ideas across 80 countries, three finalists were selected & will participate in a HACk Accelerator during SXSW. The winner will be announced at the Startup of the Year Finals & Happy Hour. The three shortlisted entrants are from Uganda, the US, & the Netherlands. They propose novel ways of leveraging digital technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), mobile apps & digital therapeutics, to connect patients with caregivers, medicines & information, & address local healthcare access challenges.
