What happens when you mash together a tech ethicist, a comedian, & top-notch experts?! Welcome to Funny as Tech-a weekly podcast & montly live show in NYC that tackles the thorniest issues in technology!
Co-hosts David Ryan Polgar (3-time TEDx, tech writer for IBM thinkLeaders, Dell Perspectives, Quartz, Big Think) & Joe Leonardo invite a diverse range of guests to unpack our absurd present & uncertain future. Started in June 2017, Funny as Tech has featured CNN's Laurie Segall, media theorist Douglas Ruskoff, comedian Chuck Nice, WNYC's Manoush Zomorodi, x.ai founder Dennis Mortensen, chatbot creator Clara de Soto, & futurist comedian Baratunde Thurston.

David Ryan Polgar is a tech ethicist. A frequent speaker (3-time TEDx, The School of the New York Times, TNW New York), tech commentator (CBS This Morning, SiriusXM, CNN.com, LA Times), & contributing writer for Big Think, IBM thinkLeaders & Quartz. He is currently focused on whether we are becoming botified online, along with the ethical concerns facing emerging tech. Polgar co-founded the global Digital Citizenship Summit & currently works with the virtual world startupFriendbase. He is noted for his work around tech ethics, digital citizenship, & digital wellness. You can read some of his recent writing on HERE. He recently launched an initiative called All Tech Is Human, which is focused on better aligning the business interests of tech companies with the human interests of users & society.
Joe Leonardo is a comedic actor & writer who has been featured on ESPN, Travel Channel, NPR, Anderson Cooper LIVE, & Prank Academy to name a few. He is currently a house team performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York, a member of their Touring Company & co-host of their Wednesday Night Improv Jam. Joe is also the co-creator/co-host of Funny As Tech, a tech-comedy podcast & monthly panel show at The People's Improv Theater. He is one of the founders of Sea Tea Improv & has studied improv & sketch at the UCB Theatre, The PIT, The Magnet & Hartford Stage.
