THANIYA KEEREEPART was the founding head of TED's media initiatives on mobile & connected devices. She was responsible for overall strategic direction, investment, product management, growth, & operations on all non web platforms owned & operated by TED. Thaniya joined TED in early 2010 where she created the product development team as well as spearheaded all mobile development efforts. She built a cross-disciplinary team of product professionals: managers, designers & researchers who worked side-by-side engineers within the larger technology group. Her role eventually moved into running the business of TED on apps.
Her passion lies in the intersection of human-computer interaction, design, & behavioral economics. Her work has been recognized by numerous awards, including Emmy, Peabody, Adobe MAX, Webby, & the National Design Award.
DHEERJA KAUR is Head of Product & Design at theSkimm, a company that focuses on delivering news & information into the routines of female millennials. They have an audience of millions who engage with them daily via their newsletter, app, & audio/video products. Prior to joining theSkimm, Dheerja was an engineering & product leader at ESPN, working across all of their digital products.
KRYSTAL PERSAUD is an industrial designer & the Director of Product Design at littleBits, the award-winning platform of electronic blocks that is empowering everyone to create inventions, large & small. A graduate of the Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design, Krystal is also the Founder & Managing Member of the design collective Grouphug & teaches a course on product development processes & materials at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Krystal is a Founding Member of littleBits & led the design team behind the Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit & the littleBits Code Kit. She's spoken at numerous events including the AIGA Design Conference, FIT's Women & Technology Symposium & Sandbox@MIT.
