<P><STRONG>Hip Hop Hacktivist is a free hackathon targeting youth. Our primary goal is to use the appeal & influence of the hip-hop culture to introduce the tech industry & its opportunities to youth.</STRONG></P>
<P>COME ENJOY A DAY AT TUMBLR AND WORK WITH TUMBLR DEVELOPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!</P>
<P CLASS="text-align-center">Hip Hop Hacktivist will host twenty-five high school students. Students will be placed in groups of five & each group will be supported by two trained software developers & one trained design professional. Students will work together as a team to brainstorm & come up with an idea based on the theme of the hackathon. Students will utilize teamwork, effective communication, time-management, & all the necessary skills involved in building a successful web app. Designers will assist students in sketching ideas out & wire framing. After the ideation stage, developers will bring the students ideas to life & the students will assist in the creative decisions that are to be made. Students will also work together to create a four minute presentation that describes & demonstrates their idea. Prizes will be distributed to various groups based on certain criteria.</P>
<P CLASS="text-align-center">The hackathon will also include a music showcase & a panel that involves a conversation between a music professional & a tech professional discussing the great opportunities that careers in tech provide.</P>
