About the Panelists

Kartik Gadahas 20 years of experience across investment banking, hedge funds, & technology business unit management. At Woodside Capital, his focus is on artificialiIntelligence, fintech, & other advanced, high-impact technologies.

He was previously a Managing Director at Reliance Capital. Before that, he founded 3D Strategies Management, a commodities futures hedge fund that was among the highest returning small funds during that period, with portfolio returns of 70%/year from 2009-13. Earlier, he was a Director at Netgear, responsible for the full P&L of the $250M consumer products division, launching 14 of Netgears 20 biggest products at the time.

Kartik is the author of a widely read book on the new economics of technology, The ATOM (http://atom.singularity2050.com/), that has been featured in a Google Talk, multiple television programs, & numerous keynotes, including at the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. He teaches a popular finance class at Stanford University, & is scheduled to add an additional class about the economics of disruptive technologies.

Kartik holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, & is the entrepreneurship co-chair for the UMichBay Area Alumni Board. Additionally, Kartik studied engineering at Stanford University & Case Western Reserve University.

Ivy Nguyenis an associate at Zetta Venture Partners.Prior to joining Zetta Ventures, Ivy was Senior Associate at NewGen Capital, a venture capital firm providing early stage deep tech startups with growth opportunities in China & the greater APAC region. During her tenure at NewGen she sourced & led investments in several companies including Constructor, NuCypher, Assembly, & Agridata.

Before NewGen, Ivy managed the startup accelerator program at Imagine H2O, an organization supporting global water innovation. At IH2O Ivy supported over 40 water tech startups from over 14 countries including Israel, Australia, & Singapore by connecting them to the program's growing network of investors, mentors, & pilot partners at major Fortune 1000 companies.

Ivy earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, where she served as News Managing Editor of the Stanford Daily.


Brandon Reevesis an associate on the investment team at Lux Capital. His goal is to identify companies that are turning science fiction into science fact especially in areas of mobility, space, robotics, & the human brain.

Prior to joining Lux, Brandon was on the investment team at Capricorn Investment Group, based in Palo Alto, where he focused on autonomy, mobility, semiconductors & energy. While there, he led the firms investments in Navitas, a power electronics silicon company.

Previously, Brandon worked for Texas Instruments in Sunnyvale, California, where he was a Field Applications Engineer that supported Tesla Motors. In that role he worked with Tesla on its autopilot designs, next generation infotainment, & the sensor system for the Model X falcon wing doors.

Brandon grew up in South Florida & earned a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida & an MBA from Harvard Business School.
