Women Owning It is a celebration of female-identifying creators & entrepreneurs owning their space in their industries. For our first panel of 2020, we are exploring how to successfully navigate team dynamics. As a leader, a good team is the most valuable asset you have. Working within teams is increasingly becoming more complex & people often must work together from various departments to communicate & align work despite frequently changing environments. Unlocking & solving what it takes to create great teamwork is key to a successful work environment in 2020. Join us for a panel exploring team dynamics & how to set, manage, & execute team expectations & goals.

Alex Cirillo is a Producer, Director, & the Co-Founder of Big Vision Empty Wallet, an inclusion-focused production company with an incubator model. She serves on the Board of Directors of New York Women in Film & TV, the Advisory Board for the WGA's Made in NY Writers Room Fellowship, & the Advisory Board for Catalyst Content Festival. In her 10 years in the industry, she has produced 10 feature films that have premiered at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Palm Springs & Bentonville film festivals. Shaunice Hawkins is a faculty member of business at New York University & The New School. She is a specialist in leadership, organizational behavior, corporate/organizational communication, branding & reputation management, diversity & inclusion, human capital management, & strategic planning. A semi-retired corporate executive, & current principal of strategic communication boutique, Evolutions Consulting & Advising, her expertise is regularly solicited by Fortune 500 companies, law firms, academia, not-for-profits, government agencies, religious institutions, & media such as JPMorgan Chase, Procter & Gamble, Outerwall, ESPN, GlaxoSmithKline, Financial Times/FundFire, Jackson Lewis LLP, Chubb Insurance, Complex Media, PR Newswire, Working Mother Media, Girl Scouts of America, She's the First, & the US Department of Agriculture. For greater than 25 years, she has served as an educator, advisor, strategist, & consultant. Shaunice holds undergraduate & graduate degrees, post-graduate certifications, & professional designations from St. John's University, New York University, Cornell University, Tulane University, Villanova University, Rutgers University & Northeastern University. Shaunice is the author of several articles & publications including PassionWho Needs It? An Action Oriented Exploration of Passion & Purpose, & Practical Steps to Take When Your Inner Fire Has Burned Out.

Before becoming Executive Director of the Nantucket Film Festival in 2012, Mystelle Brabbe curated the festival program for sixteen years, ten of those as Artistic Director. Almost since its inception, she has stewarded the film program, including the line-up of as many as 75 feature, documentary & short films; As Artistic Director, she has been responsible for the overall creative direction of live programs, including the Screenwriters Tribute hosted by Brian Williams, the All-Star Comedy Roundtable Presented by Ben Stiller, the Staged Readings series, Late Night Storytelling, & the Teen View Filmmaking program. Brabbe has been the Senior Programmer for DOC NYC, a documentary festival at the Independent Film Center New York, & Director of Acquisitions for article27, a London-based film rights syndicator. In 2005, Highway Courtesans, a documentary shot in India that played over thirty-film festivals & garnered several awards along the way was released theatrically in the US. She has taught in the Graduate Film Department of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, & lives in Brooklyn, New York.
