As a Maintenance & Fleet Manager on Vias Transit-as-a-Service (TaaS) Operations team, youll supervise & perform complex technical & administrative work overseeing the maintenance program for the servicing, maintenance, & repair of all transit equipment & property.

**This is an in-person position with the expectation that you will be on site 5 days per week**

What You'll Do:

  • Supervise & inspect the day-to-day workings of maintenance & utility personnel engaged in the servicing, overhaul, & repair of all transit equipment & property. Discuss equipment repair with personnel, evaluate problems, write work orders, & assign & prioritize work.
  • Inspect work in progress & upon completion when required. Inspect tools & equipment for condition & proper use. Approve stock orders for needed parts. Maintain records of work, troubleshoot various facilities & transit equipment problems. Understand & use automotive test equipment manuals & diagrams.
  • Direct & coordinate the administrative activities pertinent to the maintenance of system equipment & property. Help prepare the maintenance budget & oversee maintenance budget.
  • Provide technical advice to mechanics. Determine need & feasibility of major repairs on individual pieces of equipment.
  • Direct & coordinate the ordering, receiving, storing, & distribution of an inventory of equipment supplies & spare parts.
  • Diagnose & perform all repairs as required by mechanics, including but not limited to, engine defects, transmission defects, electrical defects, & preventative maintenance. 
  • Build strong working relationships with partners, vendors, & other stakeholders, including central Via teams & our partners.

Who You Are:

  • Self-starter who is proactive & comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
  • Strong project manager eager to create & refine operational processes
  • Outgoing & sociable leader; skilled at communicating professionally with partners, vendors, & partners from a broad range of backgrounds
  • Comfortable prioritizing & working on multiple initiatives with various stakeholders 
  • Hold a valid drivers license
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Vocational automotive training & considerable experience including two years supervisory experience in skilled mechanical work strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Final salary will be determined by the candidates experience, knowledge, & skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
  • Salary Range: $66,560 - $75,000 per year
