The North America Loyalty group - which includes three products: Visa Commerce Network, Visa Offers Platform, & Visa Loyalty Platform Services - uses Visa's highly valuable data & technology to drive commerce for merchants across the continent. The Visa Commerce Network utilizes spend data to provide valuable insights & targeting capabilities for merchants who deliver targeted offers, while the Visa Offers Platform & Visa Loyalty Platform Services power the back end of some of your favorite card-linked offer programs throughout the world.
The Manager of Business Development is a sales role that will work cross-functionally with stakeholders from across the organization to increase adoption of & performance of Visa Loyalty products. This highly motivated individual will be responsible for coordinating sales efforts with internal & external stakeholders to maximize adoption & utilization of Visa's powerful advertising tools.
Navigate large national merchants through the sales process from lead generation through contract negotiation
Support & implement Visa's monetization strategies & advertising/card-linked promotions for Loyalty in North America
Work with merchant partners to create advertising campaigns, understand monetization strategies & develop advertising/card-linked offer promotions
Manage day-to-day business operations & growth strategies with merchant partners, including performing detailed quantitative analysis & growth strategy to pitch advertising campaigns
Negotiate merchant agreements with the Legal team, including collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive to decisions & commitment on deal points surrounding advertising campaigns
Support & guide partners through technical integrations & work with engineering & product teams to provide the best products for merchants
Lead efforts to find solutions on complex, strategic problems affecting our merchant partners & their customers while promoting Visa as a preferred payment partner & innovator
Continuously tweak, develop & implement day-to-day business operations processes for the Merchant Sales Team
4 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree
7-10 years of work experience & a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD.
5+ years of relevant work experience in sales or business development role for a technology company
Advanced understanding of common KPI's for digital marketing campaigns
Excellent professional communication skills & experience with external, Manager & Director level partners
Comfortable prioritizing multiple responsibilities with the ability to shift priorities & produce deliverables under deadlines
Detail-oriented & diligent worker, with strong problem-solving & leadership skills
Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environment
Works proactively to assist team on time-sensitive projects
Ability to work in cross-functional setting with multiple stakeholders, including engineering, product management, marketing & ops
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Familiarity with/expertise in desktop, mobile, & web applications
- Incumbent must make themselves available onsite during core business hours
- May be needed to take phone calls with teams in various time zones as needed
- Travel as needed by the business up to 20%
- This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, reach with hands & arms, & bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
