The Capacity Planning team is looking for an intern to improve & expand theheuristic for solving the bin pack problem using LinearProgramming optimization techniques. The LPmodel minimizes the number of machinesrequired to accommodate predicted future demand.

The intern will have access, for 30 minutes every day, to the LeadCapacity Planner who initially developed the model.The intern will be expected toattend meetings as a member of the team.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Set up the model underdifferent what if scenarios that answer often asked questions from the Capacity team.
  • Write the scripts required to drive the execution of the model along with the User Interface & Visualization of the results.
  • Learn the principles behind LP modeling techniques as applied in a large environment with many objectives & constraints.

What Well Expect From You:

  • Scripting/programming with a data science/operations research emphasis.
  • Previous experience with HTML, JavaScript, Perl or Python is expected.

This is a Summer 2019 internship.
