JOB DETAILS

Hi, we're Oscar. Were hiring a Program Associate to join our West Region team in our Los Angeles office.

Oscar is a technology-driven, consumer-focused health insurance startup founded in 2012.  Our goal is to make health insurance simple, transparent, & human. We need your help to do so.

About this role:

The West Region team manages the overall performance of our growing individual insurance products in multiple Western states. Our small but mighty team is working on a list of 30+ (and growing!) externally & internally facing initiatives including market expansions, provider & vendor contracting, planning & analytics, compliance reporting, & developing internal capabilities & processes to support future growth. We are looking for a program management manager who can help our team stay focused on our top priorities while making sure that smaller but important items don't get neglected or missed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage our team's internal roadmap of initiatives, using cloud-based tools, at varying levels of detail -- from overall high-level strategy to individual project tasks -- including deadlines & ownership. Maintain project plans & status reports. Track key outcome measures by gathering benchmarking & performance data.
  • Organize & facilitate meetings with internal & external audiences including senior leadership: making agendas, taking notes & managing deliverables & deadlines.
  • Track & resolve escalated global issues, coordinating end-to-end issue resolution through research, analysis, root cause identification & remediation, tracking, & summarized reporting. Communicate issue progress to business partners, operational leaders, & stakeholders, altering communication method & detail as needed.
  • Create communications on business changes, enhancements, & highlights, pulling relevant information from various dashboards & information sources, & creating well-designed, beautiful presentations within branding guidelines, with visual representations of complex concepts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create business process documentation, such as flow-charts & policy & procedures. Apply knowledge of business process modeling notations (BPMN, EPC, BPEL) to detail processes. Work with cross-functional team members to understand processes, root causes & outcomes, & provide analysis & preparation of recommendations that will drive greater productivity, reduce waste, or eliminate duplication. Plan, manage, & execute cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
  • Establish a network of internal relationships with functional operational departments to effectively & efficiently resolve cross-functional issues. Serve as a central point of contact between department & internal customers on day-to-day programmatic, operational, & administrative matters.
  • Organize internal & external meetings & complex events, including travel arrangements if required.
  • Manage internal content libraries.
  • Support the team by navigating & completing internal processes for procurement, expense reports, travel arrangements & supplies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate work experience

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working at both large & small organizations
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification
  • BPM Certification (AIIM BPM Certificate, Certification from BPMInstitute.org, ABPMPs Certified Business Process Professional (CBPPBA Certification (CBAP/CCBA, BCS BA Certification, PMI-PBA, etc.)
