Our Business Technology team is looking for a Help Desk Technician, internally titled End User Services Technician, who is customer oriented, analytical, & has an interest in partnering with our software development organization on their infrastructure. 

This role is based at Appian's Headquarters in McLean, VA. Employees hired for this position will have the opportunity to work in a flexible, hybrid environment. 

To be successful in this role, you need:

  • To assist with Windows, Linux & Macintosh desktop administration
  • To assist in the maintenance of Appians IT network & server infrastructure
  • To assist in the administration of Appian's voice networks
  • To provide capabilities to improve Appians productivity
  • To provide initial technical support to Appians global employees via IT Service Desk cases
  • To provide on-call resolution for mission critical issues & document solutions within the case management system
  • To enhance overall system security, performance & availability
  • To assist with the lifecycle of end user hardware & software inventory
  • To have competency in administering desktop operating systems
  • To have exceptional verbal & written communication skills
  • To have strong problem solving skills & attention to detail
  • To have an interest in cloud computing

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in Windows, Linux, and/or Macintosh desktop administration
  • Ability to work nights or weekends, as needed, to perform regular onsite maintenance or on call duties
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment
