Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Director, Market Management to join our Market P&L team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform & a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselvesone that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role

This role is responsible for membership growth & financial performance within their market. This leader works across a cross functional team to manage performance & to assist in the development & execution of strategies for Oscar to meet short & long term goals. They develop & maintain exceptional relationships within the market particularly with current & potential future network partners to deliver best in class member care & outcomes.  

You will report to the VP, Market P&L.

This is a remote / work-from-home role, but this person MUST reside in the state of Texas. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role is: $156,960 - $206,010 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscars unlimited vacation program, company equity grants, & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial performance for assigned market
  • Develop & maintain key relationships with providers, regulators, & community partners
  • Identify & execute on growth opportunities
  • Serve as the chief subject matter expert on your markets & be a key internal source of knowledge on relevant region & policy developments. 
  • Build, manage, & constantly improve upon workflows & systems
  • Generate financial insights that will ensure Oscars long-term sustainability, & work with internal departments & leaders to execute on these insights
  • Lead a team of  key talent, both within your direct & matrix reporting teams.
  • Form strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders across the company to understand the impact of our partner relationships & contractual terms on their work streams & inform our strategies
  • Contribute as a member of the leadership team, advocating for the needs of your markets & members.  
  • Build new provider relationships by leveraging & enhancing Oscars value proposition to execute on the business plan for your market

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of work experience in the healthcare industry
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex negotiations & interpersonal skills needed to build relationships & communicate clearly at the executive level
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare contracting, operations & market economics
  • 8+ years of analytical experience with the ability to quickly digest & evaluate complex financial structures & operational workflows

Bonus Points

  • Masters of Business Administration, or other professional degree.

Travel required

  • Up to 50%

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
