The Information Security team, responsible for infrastructure & application security, is seeking an Application Security Engineer. Security is paramount to the value of our Symphony Platform. This is an opportunity for a hands-on Java / Javascript Security Engineer to develop expert-level skills in secure coding practices for popular programming languages like Java & JavaScript. Symphony is used by over 350 regulated companies in critical sectors such as Financial Services. The successful candidate will play a key role in preserving our commitment to our Customers by keeping their information on Symphony secure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop expertise in secure coding techniques, including Java, JavaScript via training & hands-on learning
  • Advise Product & Engineering teams on security solutions to protect the Symphony Platform as well as provide mentorship to secure design
  • Perform security reviews & threat modeling for critical Symphony Platform functionality & mobile applications
  • Establish secure coding guidance for Symphonys Security risk, compliance, & policy initiatives
  • Provide security expertise in the analysis & remediation phases of security events, vulnerabilities, & incidents
  • Promote security within Symphony, support Security Education Training & Awareness campaigns

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for security, ability to learn quickly new skills & pursue Security Certification (e.g., GSEC, CISSP)
  • Proficient in one programming language Java or JavaScript preferred
  • Basic understanding of industry standard security best practices such as OWASP Top 10
  • Good interpersonal & communications skills & the ability to collaborate closely with both technical & non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of web & mobile application vulnerabilities, attacks, & mitigation methods
  • Experience with Cloud applications (AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with collaboration tools, coding for mobile applications (iOS or Android) & voice/video is a plus
  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science
