Job Description

The mission of the Strategic Operations team at Square is to manage global strategic compliance initiatives & processes. These projects include the development & execution of project plans for large cross-functional initiatives such as outsourcing operational backlogs, developing team efficiency metrics & Key Performance Indicators & reporting out to management.The Project Manager will work alongside product managers, operations leads, engineers, legal counsel, & outside partners.

You will:

  • Facilitate & manage technical projects, by gathering requirements, developing & tracking project milestones, estimating work efforts & managing competing priorities

  • Identify project risks & facilitate the mitigation of those risks

  • Manage communication of progress/status with the Counsel team, executives & other project stakeholders

  • Evaluate current operational processes & procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices

  • Build tactical & scalable solutions for operational teams to manage compliance tasks & risks

  • Design & maintain all relevant documentation & content

  • Communicate progress & results to all relevant internal & external stakeholders & partners

  • Stay on top of regulatory developments, industry trends & Square roadmaps to drive decisions


You have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree & 4+ years of experience managing large cross-functional projects at a fast-paced, high-growth company

  • A strong analytical & metrics driven approach to create substantiated solutions

  • Extremely strong project planning skills with an eye for detail

  • A superior ability to communicate with peers, engineers & executives

  • Superb organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • An ability to distill complex issues into solvable & actionable tasks

  • Ability to execute independently & work with team members of all levels

  • Adaptability in an agile & fast-paced environment

  • Clear & effective written skills that reflect high attention to detail

  • Understanding of SQL & Excel is preferred
