The Strategic Account Management (SAM) Team is responsible for managing a book of business for Walmarts top Tier 1 sellers. They are responsible for hitting GMV goals by optimizing the business of existing sellers & driving growth of new strategic partners. This team will own the business front-to-back & will get exposure to all areas of the business,including:seller recruitment, onboarding, site merchandising, marketing, account management, & more. The SAM team will work collaboratively to deliver a best-in-class marketplace experience for our customers & cost-effective, sustainable businesses for our sellers.

Strategic Initiatives: Assists in identifying business improvement opportunities, provides input into, & supports the development of plans for an L0 category. Supports the development of business cases for business improvement initiatives by conducting research & benchmarking options.
Business Development & Partnerships: Prospects using category lead lists & executes a high volume of cold outreach to a list of strategic target partners. Helps manage seller relationships & handles interactions with certain brands, retailers, & distributors in a variety of functions. Begins to manage marketing activities with a defined list of prospects, partners & sellers.
Marketplace Policies/Standards: Assists in communicating ideas to Product for building tools & processes to optimize business development & vendor management for a category or business area. Identifies gaps in current processes & tools & recommends changes to improve business development & vendor management.
Research & Analysis: Executes analyses & synthesizes data, recognizes patterns that inform business decisions (e.g., segmentation, ROI/customer growth, conversion & retention rates, profitability). Identifies key benchmarks & reviews benchmarking research conducted by others. Leverage reports (basic & customized) & suggests improvements to dashboards/metrics.
Collaboration: Works with cross-functional teams within a category or business area (e.g. Product, Marketing, Category Management, MP Strategy, Strategic Account Management).
