Zola is seeking an exceptional Head of Store/Retail Operations to create the strategy for & execute the launch of Zolas first store. The ideal candidate will lead the way for Zola to deliver its best-in class experiences & services to Zolas customers through a physical retail presence. You will drive the retail strategy & launch plan with key Business, Merchandising, Marketing, & Operations partners & stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate has a track record of success at opening, hiring for, & running experiential stores. You are an analytical & creative thinker, able to toggle quickly between the big themes & the little details. You are willing to roll up your sleeves to get this store launched & keep iterating on it to ensure it is amazing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, define, & execute the vision & strategy for a new Retail store; including both the day to day operations & Zolas long-term plan
  • Bring Zolas innovative wedding planning, registry, paper, & wedding shop products to life in a retail experience
  • Partner with Business leaders, Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, Operations teams as stakeholders in the strategy & execution of the retail experience
  • Own & manage all aspects of the retail operations including construction & real estate transactions
  • Lead & develop retail leadership & staff & act as a liaison for store managers with corporate teams
  • Assess business trends & actively partner with corporate stakeholders in order to strategize local growth & drive business initiatives
  • Establish, track, & interpret KPIs to monitor & iterate on the retail performance & provide guidance for store to achieve goals
  • Hire & lead a store staff that can bring Zolas online experience to life in person; this includes training & developing this team to be experts in all Zolas tools & products
  • Cultivate a goal-oriented environment for your team; manage & support your teams daily efforts to ensure their work is effective & aligned with Zolas mission
  • Communicate the learnings & feedback from the Store to the right places to allow us to continually iterate & improve

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS; MBA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of management experience; 2+ years in a field operations or multi-store operational role
  • Must have experience working in a fast-paced startup
  • Exceptional business strategy & customer experience judgement
  • Exceptional managerial experience
  • Ability to build business relationships across functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize & manage competing tasks in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment
  • Strong organizational & project management skills from conceptualization & implementation to follow up
  • Some travel required
