POPSUGAR is looking for a versatile, creative, detail-oriented Assistant Editor to help support our growing freelance program, POPSUGAR Voices. If you love finding new voices to highlight, working with writers to make their content shine, & collaborating with a fast-paced team, we want to meet you! Our ideal candidate is a strong editor with a knack for organization & an analytical eye.
In this role, you will...
- Assign & edit content from our pool of 1,000 freelance contributors across verticals with a heavy emphasis on SEO
- Evaluate & organize story pitches & submissions from contributors, & choose the best content to be featured on POPSUGAR
- Support Voices Editors with photo research, pulling data on content performance, & other administrative tasks
- Work with contributor network to troubleshoot & answer questions as needed
- Contribute original content to POPSUGAR
In order to thrive in this role, you must have...
- Minimum 1 year of experience editing content
- Experience line editing & finessing a high volume of copy on tight deadlines
- A healthy obsession with social & digital media
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- A talent for staying ahead of trends & adapting to a constantly changing digital landscape
- A familiarity with & passion for the POPSUGAR brand
- HTML & Photoshop skills
