Away is a global lifestyle brand with a mission to transform travel through products & content that inspire people to get away more. In support of our mission, we are seeking a People Partner, HQ to join our People + Culture team.

Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will have had strong experience in employee relations, coaching & development of senior leaders, & organizational development & design. We are looking for someone that has the ability to zoom out & keep strategic focus on scaling for growth & retention. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business as well as the broader People + Culture team (People Ops, People Strategy, Talent Acquisition, Payroll & Benefits, etc.) & report into the Director, People Partners. This position will be based in our NYC office.

What You'll Do:

  • Have a deep understanding of Human Resources & be a thought leader on people & organizational topics within your dedicated teams as well as cross-functionally
  • Partner with senior business leaders & store managers to develop thoughtful, scalable people-focused initiatives focusing on recruitment, retention, engagement, recognition & talent management
  • Coach business leaders & store managers on employee relations matters including performance management, feedback & career pathing
  • Partner with People Strategy to develop manager & team trainings focused on development, culture & career growth 
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition & FP&A team on strategic headcount planning, identifying critical roles & succession planning
  • Collaborate with the People Partner team to accelerate a culture of innovation & development while providing employees & managers the tools they need to be successful

Who You Are:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively more HR or relevant experience, retail experience required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities & competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong leadership, change management & facilitation skills
  • Ability to coach & develop senior leaders
  • Strong relationship aptitude
  • Support the acquisition & retention of top talent
  • Familiarity with employment laws & best practices, experience in multiple US markets is desired
  • Identify, resolve or refer complex issues in support of a positive work environment
  • Interpret policies & regulations to ensure fair & equitable resolution of issues
  • Ability to use people metrics & analytics to identify trends
  • Hard working with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced & ever-changing startup environment
  • Passionate about retail & travel (but thats a given!)
