SUMMARY 

The Product Designer has a great eye for typography, a passion for user-centered design, & desire to build experiences that amplify the work of AccuWeather product portfolio; consumer & enterprise. This role requires a balance of strong visual design alongside an understanding of creating design systems & software tools.

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Minimum of 5 years product / UI design experience
  • Track record of rapid prototyping & launching impactful v1 products from concept to delivery
  • Produce pixel perfect high fidelity visual comps & guides to the development team
  • Advanced understanding & experience working with responsive & adaptive layouts
  • Help develop, manage, & refine UI pattern libraries & interaction guidelines
  • Communicate, defend, & build consensus around product design direction
  • Strong portfolio with a highly refined aesthetic
  • UX sensibility & exceptional eye for detail

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years product / UI design experience
  • At least 1 years experience mentoring & managing junior designers
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles & UI best practices
  • Ability to design within brand guidelines & create guidelines as needed
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience within an Agile delivery team to iteratively plan & develop products
  • Experience with rapid prototyping applications & ability to prototype for user testing
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript & some ability to code
  • Keynote & PowerPoint skills
  • Expert knowledge of Sketch & Adobe Creative Suite
  • Expert knowledge of Zeplin
  • Exceptional time & project management skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, & able to think creatively & quickly
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, diplomacy & tact
  • Strong portfolio with a highly refined aesthetic
