About the Role

Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams across the organization (Category Management, Site Merchandising, Finance, Marketing) to develop category financial plans & budgets.

Demand Planning:

  • Provides direction, review & approval of demand plans/inventory strategies & portfolio for category.
  • Evaluates & modifies work processes to ensure inventory purchases meet demand for strategic category sales.
  • Oversees analyses, risk assessment & modeling on inventory plans & business trends.
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans & projects.
  • Ensures business needs are being met.

Financial Analysis:

  • Reviews & approves annual, monthly, weekly & daily sales, profit & inventory projections to ensure key financial metrics on the P&L statement & balance sheet are met for the category.
  • Develops key metrics for other category teams.
  • Prepares financial analyses & reports to understand & explain business trends & performance.
  • Prepares risk & opportunity analysis.
  • Models, analyzes, & evaluates impact of key variables (e.g., shipping promotions, rollbacks, seasonal campaigns) on business performance.

Financial Planning:

  • Leads the development of category financial plans & budgets to support strategic plans.

Forecasting & Financial Planning:

  • Manages forecast meetings & processes & decision making for a highly complex category.
  • Develops, reviews & approves forecast plans for category.
  • Reviews & makes recommendations on vendor/seller forecasts to ensure alignment to category & overall eCommerce business strategies.

Order Processing:

  • Provides direction, review & approval of orders for the category. Identifies criteria for assortment, pricing & shipping decisions for category.
  • Develops purchasing recommendations for category management counterparts.

People Development:

  • Builds & leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives.
  • Coaches team members & provide feedback to enhance skills, knowledge & work performance.
  • Have performance & career development conversations.
  • Maintains team motivation & engagement.
  • Mentors Planners.
  • Promotes & supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, & standards of ethics & integrity.
  • Provides supervision & development opportunities for associates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Ten+ years of experience in finance, inventory replenishment, category management, site merchandising, pricing or related area
