About Care/of

Care/of ( is a fast-growing, venture-backed wellness startup. We make it easier & more enjoyable to shop for vitamins (and maybe even a little fun, too). Our technology makes it possible for people to get custom vitamin recommendations based on their diets & health goals, which we deliver in convenient daily packs with a touch of joy. We aim to help people feel empowered to make the right choices for their health by being transparent about the research backing up our recommendations & the quality of our products. About the job

Care/of strongly believes that data science is a key part of our product differentiation & long-term innovation. Our data science team is in a special position to tackle problems across digital product (web & app analytics, recommendations), operations research (inventory), & general behavioral prediction (probabilistic models, time series analysis). The data around our e-commerce products will interact richly with granular measures of users' health & wellness, a domain where machine learning is only recently starting to gain traction.

We are interested in hiring highly technical analysts who are comfortable with modern tools of data analysis & the scale of data at a tech company. Our quantitative analysts are proficient with SQL, as it is essential to data self-service, business intelligence functions, & the scaling of analysis beyond spreadsheets. Quantitative analysts transform the rich information in our data warehouse into product improvements, business optimizations, & valuable insights about our customer base.


  • Create reports & dashboards using our SQL-based business intelligence tools
  • Partner with marketing, product, & ops to support their goals with data analysis
  • Proactively identify opportunities where data analysis can enhance our understanding of our business
  • Write ad hoc SQL to answer day-to-day inquiries as they arise
  • Clearly convey findings through visualization, written communication, presentations, and/or internal tools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to directly impact business metrics, including improving retention & customer lifetime value


  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (math, statistics, computer science, economics, physics)
  • 2-3 years of analytical experience at a tech startup or a finance/consulting firm
  • High proficiency with SQL
  • A good foundation in statistics & undergraduate math
  • Some experience with Python a plus
  • An excellent teacher & storyteller
