THE ROLE

Pelotons nascent Learning + Development team builds global programs to empower team members to become their best & deliver their best work. We are seeking a Senior Director, Learning + Development to lead this growing team. 

The ideal candidate brings strong skills in program design, curriculum development & partner resourcing & is driven to create & embed new company-wide learning programs across compliance, onboarding, manager & leadership development, core business competencies, & more. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Talent Development, this individual will work internally with teams across the Peloton to build, curate, & support learning content & experiences, explore new learning methods, & build both live & digital learning solutions to serve our global team members. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have 10+ years & deep experience in the development of learning programs in a high-growth, global company, & strive to stay on the forefront of innovative learning practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Because learning programs are relatively new at Peloton, the Senior Director will lead the effort to shift away from siloed learning initiatives in favor of building a cohesive, holistic, scalable learning program that accounts for key roles across the company.  Responsibilities include:

  • Develop & lead L+D initiatives that align with business goals, talent strategies, & meet all compliance requirements;
  • Serve as an L+D ambassador to advocate for the value & continued growth of learning initiatives within the company
  • Serve as a Peloton culture ambassador, leading with our core values & ensuring that our core values are embedded in all learning programs
  • Work to ensure that all learning programs are equitably available to a diverse team of global employees & embed equity & belonging in each learning program
  • Drive engagement & development at all levels of the organization, & foster an environment of continuous learning to encourage career growth & succession readiness
  • Ensure that all learning programs are appropriately localized, translated (where necessary), & tailored in their implementation to specific global markets
  • Lead & manage the design, development & delivery of technical & soft skill learning programs & services
  • Conduct comprehensive needs analyses on a continuous basis, recognize emerging patterns, & provide recommendations to address gaps and/or potential opportunities
  • Partner closely with the People Business Partner team to monitor the pulse of organizational needs & learning opportunities across global markets & diverse functions
  • Measure & articulate L+D effectiveness & impact based on strategic alignment, overall organizational health & key performance indicators, including engagement data
  • Research & implement best practices in instructional technology, tools, & approaches
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define appropriate scope & focus for L+D initiatives with key partners & stakeholders, including but not limited to:
    • People Team (HR), including People Experience, Diversity + Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, & Business Leaders across the Company
  • Identify business needs relative to L+D org & people development, & continue to grow & evolve the team to meet those needs
  • Manage a team of L+D managers & content creators, & resource & manage external L+D vendors & relationships to serve the diverse needs of the business 
  • Foster a cross-functional team environment that reflects Pelotons learning philosophy, encouraging continued growth & development
  • Builds high performing training teams through recruiting, hiring, coaching, motivation, recognition, self-development, & support of career development
  • Defines budget requirements to meet training objectives; tracks training costs for the company
  • Develops the L+D team to create a shared ethos & learning experience globally
  • Drives process & continuous improvement across Learning; ensuring departmental cost effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years leading a corporate learning team, preferably in a high-growth environment with a large number of hourly & salaried employees, & with deep experience in developing & driving learning strategy across a global organization
  • Expertise designing & implementing a variety of learning programs & creating supporting course documentation, including design documents, storyboards, art style guides, & learning objectives
  • 10+ years experience managing large-scale programs focused on learning & development & human capital or people programs
  • 10+ years driving the strategy behind instructional design, including creating engaging & interactive learning curriculums by applying industry standard methodologies, such as ADDIE, SAM, & Agile to the full life cycle of course development
  • Ability to analyze information from a variety of sources to form instructionally sound course content
  • Experience managing a team of learning content creators, including the direction of LMS platform use & appropriate use of visual & audio content design in Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint & other software used for developing engaging training experiences
