Glossier is looking for a driven, organized & experienced Senior Accountant. We are building out this function to help manage our expanding retail presence, drive process improvement across the Accounting department, & support Glossiers overall growth. This role is designed for an individual who shows great attention to detail, has strong knowledge of GAAP, & can manage several simultaneous projects.
The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager & will be integral in improving several processes, which will ultimately enhance the efficiency & accuracy of Glossiers financial reporting. We are looking for a team member who is excited to work with cross-functional partners & add value to the organization.
Six Month Expectations
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes & timing
- Support month-end close process & financial statement review, including variance analyses for certain areas of the financial statements.
- Prepare journal entries & balance sheet reconciliations, & maintain all relevant supporting schedules in audit-ready fashion.
- Liaise with the external auditors, supporting the year-end financial statement audit.
- Engage in new projects within the Company including expansion within our retail & wholesale businesses
12+ Month Expectations
- Develop processes & workflows to improve existing processes & support growth.
- Initiate reviews & analysis to provide business insights & respond to inquiries from senior management.
- Implement ways to shorten the month-end close process by finding efficiencies.
- Assist in technical accounting research
- Provide inputs for financial statement footnotes & disclosures
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, & time management skills
- CPA required
- Strong understanding of financial controls
