The Data team within the Corporate Strategy group builds data products & platforms that influence the future path of the organization. You will work on a vast data ecosystem that drives Convenes revenue recognition, commercial strategy, financials, & product roadmap. You will have a direct impact on the future of Convenes global business & product decisions!

As a Senior Data Engineer within Corporate Strategy, you will be involved in building data platforms at scale to solve business & technical use cases, leading epics & work-streams along the way. We leverage the AWS Cloud Platform & technologies such as Snowflake, Fivetran, Airflow, & Docker. You will work with the commercial, finance, analytics, & product community to create various insights around financial performance analysis, key metrics creation & monitoring, & forecasting workstreams. 

Note: This role is fully remote, however the candidate must reside in the US & be able to work without sponsorship.

What Youll Do:

Closely work with corporate strategy, product managers & business partners to come up with innovative ideas & engineering solutions to solve complex workflows.

• Define data models that tie together fragmented data across the entire organization.
• Design & implement a large scale data ecosystem for all corporate stakeholders using Convene best practices.
• Create views & apply transformation logic to fit raw data to different use cases like occupancy/utilization metrics, account strategy, & financial reporting
• Design, implement & maintain ETL pipelines.
• Develop versatile software components to extract useful information from various unstructured or semi-structured data sets.
• Improve our Data Engineering stack through containerization, data modeling, developing our ETL pipelines, & more.
• Continue to learn more about the Data Engineering discipline, utilize that knowledge in your deliverables, & identify opportunities to enhance our pipelines.

What We Look For: 

• A degree in Computer Science or a similar field
• 4+ years of professional software engineering & programming experience (SQL, Java, Python, C++, Scala)
• 3+ years of architecture & design (patterns, reliability, scalability, quality) of complex systems & storage solutions
• Experience building data pipelines from conception to delivery with infrastructure that supports their underlying processes
• Strong analytical & problem solving ability with advanced written & verbal communication skills
• Experience with data warehousing using Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery
• Familiar with AWS & automated deployment
• Experience working with REST APIs & streaming APIs
• Comfortable with tackling very loosely defined problems, especially when working on a team which has autonomy in their day to day decisions
• Your primary area is data engineering but you are comfortable with a second area such as data presentation, backend engineering, data validation, security, or quality control
• Comfortable communicating with stakeholders (customers, product managers, C-level management)
• Passionate about designing elegant ETL processes
