About the Role:

The Events Manager at Chief is instrumental as we launch events which are a pillar to our business & membership within the LA market. You will ultimately be responsible for the production, logistics & execution of events in the Chief Los Angeles Clubhouse. Our programming team will be doing most of the content curation, but we will often want your POV & pulse on the cultural relevance of topics & speakers that will resonate with the membership in the market. This role will report directly to the GM of our LA Market, will indirectly report to our Head of Events who sits in NYC.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the planning, production & onsite execution for Chiefs Los Angeles Flagship location
  • Manage anywhere from 10-20 events per month which will include but are not limited to; Icons, Workshops, Community, Supper Clubs, Conversations, & Offsites
  • Responsible for vendor management, coordination, onboarding, payment, negotiation, etc. of A/V, Catering, Rentals, Photographers, Videographers, Talent Bookers, Talent
  • Manage local events associates on a day-to-day basis & be available for coaching, 1:1s, general guidance & oversight & for both personal & professional development; Hiring & management of support staff to be onsite at events
  • Manage frequent stakeholder interactions, reporting, projects & nurture relationships with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to; GMs, Programming, Membership, Member Engagement, Product
  • Responsible for the development & execution of event related marketing materials in coordination with our programming team, marketing team, & product team
  • Partner with our programming team to keep a pulse on the market & industry & assist with the development of programming that is relevant to our diverse membership database
  • Adheres to budget systems & guidelines for all events
  • Actively create, adjust, & refine best practice documents for the team
  • Accurate & timely reporting of key metrics & results
  • Ensures compliance of local laws/restrictions for programming

Experience And Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in hospitality, tourism management, communications, or related industries
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of directly relevant experience in event production & event programming
  • 1-3+ years experience or deep understanding of event programming & content development experience is a plus
  • Deep understanding of & passion for Chiefs mission & existing community & the passion to help grow & further this
  • Strong experience leading & managing teams
  • Willing to work flexible hours including early mornings & late evenings due to a busy events schedule
  • Curious, with a pulse on culture, brands, & trends in events
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management skills & the ability to prioritize & multitask
  • Self-motivated, strategic creative worker with a drive for executional excellence
  • Strong experiential acumenyou know how to create & produce thoughtful, engaging events that deliver against strategic objectives & are tailored for the intended audience
  • Creative thinker & problem solveralways looking beyond the available options when up against roadblocks
  • Strong communication skills & ability to cross-functionally collaborate to execute projects, including with those who may be remote
  • Work with a "no task too big, no task too small attitude
  • You are never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking "how can we do this better?"
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional organization & demonstrate team leadership skills
  • Experience learning & navigating within a high-growth & fast paced environment
  • Able to physically stand, bend, squat, & lift up to 40 lbs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Google Suite Products is a must
  • Knowledge of Splash, Airtable, Slack, Salesforce, & Looker are a plus
