The Business Development team at theSkimm identifies new business opportunities to create new or expand existing revenue streams. Entrepreneurially minded, we proactively prospect, qualify, manage, & maintain partnerships to deliver best-in-class programs that grow revenue & the brand. How youll contribute to our mission

The Affiliate Commerce Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Business Development & will work closely with the Commerce Content team to strategically grow our Affiliate program. You will be integral in theSkimms evolution to becoming a top-tier media & lifestyle brand by building & deepening relationships with existing & new Affiliate partners, educating them on our Commerce Content offerings & large-scale annual initiatives, negotiating business terms, & fostering mutually beneficial partnerships through ongoing & consistent communication. Youll be the key point of contact & take true ownership of projects, ideation & the streamlining of day-to-day processes bringing our Affiliate program to the next level. 

  • Understand theSkimms goals & purpose to support overall company growth
  • Work closely with the Commerce Content team to keep up-to-date on all priorities, editorial calendars & day-to-day goals
  • Take ownership of all 1:1 Affiliate relationships
  • Manage Affiliate Platforms to ensure smooth onboarding & maintenance
  • Act as lead on compiling Affiliate-specific internal & external one-sheets, proposals, reporting & insights as necessary
  • Negotiate Affiliate business terms while continually optimizing rates & promotions throughout the year, maximizing revenue opportunities
  • Handle initial calls with qualified Affiliate leads to determine if a potential partnership is aligned with theSkimms Commerce Content objectives
  • Identify Affiliate opportunities to expand & enhance revenue streams
  • Perform market research & identify emerging & industry trends, staying informed of new products, brands, retailers & the overall competitive landscape
  • Coordinate project efforts across multiple stakeholders to ensure internal alignment of business & growth goals.

Youre ready for this! Heres a bit more about what were looking for

  • 3-5 years experience in an Affiliate or similar role, preferably at a media or commerce brand/company
  • Strong understanding of the Affiliate business model including knowledge of platforms such as Trackonomics, Skimlinks, Partnerize, Impact, ShareASale, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the e-commerce industry
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Team player able to work well with different divisions across the organization
  • Ability to manage & prioritize multiple programs, partnerships, & deliverables with hard deadlines
  • Highly motivated self-starter that is extremely detail-oriented
  • Experience working at hyper-growth, fast-paced organizations
  • Proficiency in Keynote

What about the office?

This is a full-time role based in New York, NY with flexibility for remote work. At this time, our office remains closed but it is our goal to open as soon as it can be done safely. We are continuing to closely monitor the state of COVID-19 in NYC & will provide updates to our employees as soon as we have them available.

We will require COVID-19 vaccinations for anyone coming to our office. We are following CDC recommendations & will also require additional boosters, & will always follow CDC & NY state guidance on wearing masks in the office.
