This role is a remote contractor position. BetterCloud has a dynamic & growing presence, with offices in New York City, Atlanta, GA, & our first international office in Mexico City. As a Manual QA Engineer at BetterCloud, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality & reliability of our software products through thorough manual testing. We are looking for someone who is passionate about identifying issues, improving processes, & working collaboratively with engineering teams to deliver high-quality software. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail & a commitment to ensuring the best user experience by meticulously testing software & identifying areas for improvement.
About You:
- You have at least 2-3 years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer or in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Youre comfortable testing web applications & ensuring they work smoothly for users.
- You have an experience in clarifying business requirements
- You are skilled in designing, executing, & reporting on test cases, with a strong focus on thorough & effective testing strategies.
- You are comfortable documenting & troubleshooting issues, providing clear feedback to developers & stakeholders.
- You have a solid understanding of various testing methods, techniques, & types (e.g., functional, regression, usability, etc.).
- You enjoy working in an Agile environment & collaborating closely with developers to keep things moving quickly.
- You have strong communication skills, both verbal & written, with the ability to convey complex technical issues clearly to both technical & non-technical audiences.
- Youre comfortable with English (B2+), & can work effectively with teams across different locations.
- You have an analytical mindset & strong problem-solving abilities, enabling you to quickly identify issues & find effective solutions.
- You have experience with SQL & are comfortable running queries to verify data & troubleshoot issues
What Youll Do
- Partner with teams in the US, Mexico, India & Ukraine to solve complex challenges of product integration & simplification of tech stack.
- Perform thorough functional testing for new features
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, & track bugs
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers & product managers) to identify new feature requirements
- Diagnose & report issues & defects based on test failures
- Work independently & communicate with the various teams involved with the release process & testing
- Fully participate in the testing process through the entire lifecycle

Experience in working with test management systems (Zephyr/TestRail etc.)Experience in working with ticket/document management systems (JIRA/Confluence)Hands on experience with test automation processesExperience in working with/testing GraphQL/REST API

- Become familiar with the code base for the product(s) you support
- Ensure your local build environment is set up & functional
- Identify technical mentoring opportunities for your team & a plan to provide that mentorship
- Become familiar with the roadmap & priorities for your team
- Begin implementation of your teams top priorities, working closely with the staff engineer & other team members
