Immunovant, a subsidiary of Roivant Sciences, is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company committed to developing innovative therapies that not only treat the symptoms, but modify the course, of autoimmune diseases. Our lead asset, IMVT-1401, is in phase 2 clinical development for the treatment of multiple autoimmune diseases, with additional trials anticipated to start this year.

This highly dynamic team is seeking a VP, Corporate Controller who will play a key role in delivering on Immunovants mission. This is a unique opportunity to set up everything finance related from the ground up, including building a high performing team & leading it going forward.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Lead & develop Immunovants global accounting capabilities, including billing, accounts payable, payroll, consumer & enterprise billing & collections, & cash application functions
  • Oversee monthly close process, ensuring timely & accurate completion of all tasks, with attention to reporting, & operating expense accruals
  • Review & approve monthly trial balance
  • Ensure the accuracy & integrity of accounting records & financial systems
  • Produce statutory accounts & manage the audit cycle, as required in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Ensure timely financial & management reporting to external stakeholders, including monthly, quarterly & annual financial packages for parent company books
  • Oversee end-to-end accounts payable & treasury
  • Review weekly & monthly cash forecasts
  • Monitor bank account activity, & other treasury matters; ensure compliance

Financial Management & Controls

  • Provide expertise on financial reporting, tax, & compliance matters
  • Actively manage overhead & support the business in finding cost savings
  • Develop & maintain a best in practice internal control environment
  • Establish & maintain formal accounting policies, practices, & procedures to ensure US & other applicable GAAP compliance
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, & federal government reporting requirements & tax filings
  • Implement continuous improvement opportunities in all areas of responsibility


  • Support the execution & implementation of the company's global tax strategy
  • Assist in providing tax advisory to mitigate tax risks & exposure
  • Team with management at the parent company to ensure all relevant tax deadlines & regulations are satisfied

Financial Direction

  • Monitor business performance & cash flow/projections
  • Support strategic planning through financial planning & analysis responsibilities
  • Own the market specific payroll process & aggregate reporting for the region
  • Maintain a stable relationship with outsourced vendors & monitor trends/variances
  • Manage the indirect procurement process
  • Direct all disbursement/treasury operation activity
  • Manage the travel & expense process & ensure policy compliance

Relationship Management

  • Implement change in management culture by challenging & replacing established processes & procedures where necessary
  • Give direction & leadership towards achieving Immunovants strategy, annual goals, & objectives
  • Keep key stakeholders up to date on progress against key milestones
  • Ensure consistent & timely execution against objectives & key results. Represent Immunovant in senior leadership discussions


  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other quantitative focus
  • Significant experience at Financial Controller or equivalent role - at least 8+ years Finance equivalent functions; 5+ years of experience in senior finance roles (Consulting, Big 4, etc.) a big plus
  • Experience as a controller or finance leader in a publicly traded company is required; experience operating as a financial controller during a companys transition from privately to publicly held status is an advantage
  • Ability to drive the S-1 process & similar regulatory filings & 10-Ks & 10-Qs
  • Knowledge of the biotech/pharma industry required
  • Ability to operate in fast paced, start-up environments, work comfortably under pressure, & adapt to frequently changing landscapes & tight deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically with excellent business judgment
  • Highly motivated & willing to take on multiple responsibilities at once
  • Resourceful & relentless; independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, & delivering results in challenging situations
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems & present recommendations & findings in a clear, concise format.
  • Quick & scrappy learner who gets things done, combines creativity, problem-solving skills, & a can-do attitude to overcome any obstacle
