Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Engineer I to join our Comms team.

About the role
The senior engineer on this team will build reliable & maintainable applications, infrastructure, & interfaces that make interacting with the health care system easier for members & providers. You will work with partners, product managers, & designers to solve challenging problems. Senior Engineers collaborate with other engineers on the team to improve technology & apply best practices.
You will report to the Associate Director, Engineering.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role is: $158,400 - $207,900 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscars unlimited vacation program, company equity grants & annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Become the expert on your team's business & technical domains.
- Lead the planning, execution & release of complex technical projects.
- Work with partners, product managers, & designers to solve challenging problems.
- Collaborate with other engineers on the team to improve technology & apply best practices.
- Implement step-wise technical migrations of our existing services & applications.
- Own small to medium features or infrastructure projects from technical design through completion with little required guidance.
- Independent contributor to their team. Work effectively across the codebase with appropriate guidance from code owners.
- Make steady, well-paced progress without requiring frequent significant feedback from more senior engineers.
- Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, working with a variety of technologies, & have increasingly impactful accomplishments
- Experience proposing, experimenting, & iterating, whether it be a new shiny technology or an arcane, ill-conceived data structure; our company may be new, but the health industry isnt!
- Experience with technical contributions, improving the quality of what you create, & are excited to build fault-tolerant, & scalable software systems.
- Demonstrates solid understanding of the practical application of CS concepts within their team.
- Consistently writes stable, correct, & maintainable code with little oversight; writes modular, adaptable code with guidance.

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
