The Team

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting & data science division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers & merchants) & solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance & profitability.

The VCA India & South Asia team sits within the VCA Asia Pacific regional team & provides a comprehensive range of consulting & analytics solutions that address unique challenges across four key practice areas: strategic growth, profit improvement, risk management & digital strategy.

Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Visa's business & technical strategies by processing, analyzing & interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical rigor, statistical methods & predictive modeling techniques, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Visa & our clients to operate more efficiently & profitably.

Job Description

In this role, you will report to the Head of Data Science- India & South Asia, working with an amazing team of experts driving business transformation with advanced data solutions with a strong focus on India & South Asia.

As a Data Science Director for India & South Asia, you will work with leaders across the region to drive a team of analysts to analyze & interpret data, develop metrics to measure results, design & build predictive models to guide business operations & integrate new methodologies into existing systems.

You will work on monetizing Visa's rich data & products with our partners on all fronts - Issuers, Acquirers & Merchants.

You will work with senior colleagues across the organization - Product Managers, Business Development, & Marketing to put data at the core of Visa's value proposition & driving innovation.

Responsibilities

  • End to end delivery of data science projects for India & South Asia for issuers, acquirers & merchants

  • Part ownership of revenue targets for Visa Consulting & Analytics for India & South Asia

  • Drive data engineering & technology efforts for Visa Consulting & Data Science, responsible for architecting & delivering data assets & technology solutions that enhance the effectiveness of Data Science.

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of data structures & metrics, advocating for changes where needed for both product development & sales activity

  • Provide thought leadership in both using data to solve business problems & arriving at innovative statistical solutions

  • Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people & teams. Work closely with global peers to identify opportunities for, design, & assess improvements to Visa's products

  • Interact with Issuers, Acquirers & Merchants to understand their business problems, propose solutions using data driven analysis, collaborate closely & deliver the solutions as per agreed scope.

  • Make effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders (e.g. cost-benefit, forecasting, & experiment analysis) with business recommendations using quantitative information

  • Research & develop analysis, forecasting, & optimization methods to improve the quality of Visa's products

  • Apply advanced analytic skills to analyze VisaNet's transaction data through building descriptive / predictive models, generating business insights & providing recommendations to drive business results

  • Continually challenge our assumptions & innovate on new sources of data, tools, talent & potential partners to identify growth opportunities for Visa & our clients

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate & Postgraduate degrees in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, economics, operations research or similar, as well as MBA) or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 12years of relevant work experience (i.e., data scientist role), including deep expertise & experience with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, AI, Deep Learning, Machine Learning algorithms

  • Experience with statistical software (R, SAS or similar).

  • Experience with databases & scripting languages (such as Hadoop & Python).

  • Ability to draw conclusions from data & recommend actions.

  • Demonstrated leadership & self-direction. Demonstrated willingness to both teach others & learn new techniques.

  • Client facing experience with strong communication skills
