Internship within the Strategic Operations Team (1 position)

1) Strategy & Operations MBA Intern

Were looking for a candidate for a 2020 full-time MBA degree with the ability to complete an 8-12 week program beginning June 2019. Our ideal candidate is an analytically-minded business athlete, eager to make an impact at a high-growth tech startup.

You Have

  • Intellectual horsepower & the ability to think through a broad range of business issues
  • Desire to take initiative, comfort with change & ambiguity
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, & offer recommendations
  • Strong Excel skills, SQL a plus
  • Great verbal & written communication skills & the ability to interact with diverse groups, including senior management, sales, & engineering
  • 1-2 years of management consulting background is a plus
  • Authorization to work in the United States

What Youll do

  • Work directly with HomeLights executive team to evaluate HomeLights sales funnel & recommend strategies for scalable processes & product improvements to improve lead conversion, profitability & client experience
  • Manage the process of planning out new cross-functional projects involving various HomeLight stakeholders
  • Create analyses, metrics, & dashboards to monitor business performance as needed
  • Be an all-around team player

Internship within the Business Development Team (2 positions- see below)

1) Business Development MBA Intern (Segment Development - Military)

HomeLight is seeking an MBA intern to join the BD team & help drive the growth of our business. You will be responsible for developing a new strategic segment - from ideation to execution. You are entrepreneurial, strategic, & you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You are a creative, data-driven thinker who enjoys solving complex business problems with a get-it-done attitude.

What Youll Do Here

  • Research, quantify & assess the new segment & its product-market fit
  • Structure a short/medium/long term plan for this segment & identify key milestones
  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape for the offering & inform future business opportunities & priorities
  • Work with cross-functional teams internally (e.g. sales, product, engineering, analytics) to build the right product/solution
  • Identify & onboard new partners relevant to this segment. Track their performance against KPI
  • Be an all-around team player to help identify, develop, & execute new strategic opportunities for the business

You Have

  • 5+ years of relevant business experience, with 3+ years of experience in business development, growth, investment banking or strategy consulting preferred
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, & offer recommendations
  • Proven ability to develop opportunities from ideation to execution
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, & interpersonal skills
  • Product orientation with experience communicating & collaborating with product, engineering & operations teams a plus
  • An outstanding academic background; a technical degree or an M.B.A. is a plus
  • Pluses: experience in real estate, real estate tech, Consumer Internet or with a high-growth company

2) Business Development MBA Intern (Business Development Operations)

HomeLight is seeking an MBA intern to join the BD team & help drive our operational excellence strategy. You will be responsible for designing & implementing a new operational capability for the business. You are entrepreneurial, strategic, & you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You are a creative, data-driven thinker who enjoys solving complex business problems with a get-it-done attitude.

What Youll do

  • Work cross-functionally with our BD & Strategic Ops teams to build, optimize, & run scalable processes & product improvements to improve the companys core profitability
  • Have initiative & own product development as you identify & develop new strategic opportunities for multiple HomeLight services
  • Create analyses, metrics, & dashboards to monitor business performance as needed
  • Be an all-around team player - as an operator in a growing start-up your responsibilities will constantly be growing & evolving

You Have

  • 4+ years of professional work experience in top-tier management consulting, investment banking or a high-growth tech company
  • Intellectual horsepower & the ability to think through a broad range of business issues
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, & offer recommendations
