GitHub helps companies & organizations succeed by allowing them to build better software together. GitHub is seeking a Manager to help lead our Mid-Market Sales team focused on driving new logo acquisition & growing upsell/cross-sell revenue. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coaching & leading a strong Sales team towards delivering the best experience to our customers & driving adoption of the GitHub platform.


  • Provide leadership, development, & coaching to our Mid-Market Sales Team
  • Hire, onboard, & promote amazing talent
  • Implement processes & tools to help improve the productivity & efficiency of the MSR team
  • Manage territories, negotiate annual & multi-year contracts, work with Mid-Market Sales Reps on complex deal strategy.
  • Build relationships & provide value & attention to customers
  • Drive new logo bookings
  • Drive upsell/upgrades of GitHub Enterprise Products & services in existing accounts & manage account renewals
  • Advocate for training & services, where needed, for customer success
  • Manage strategy for exceeding group quotas by team.
  • Drive accurate forecasting & pipeline management
  • Develop talent by implementing training best practices & programs.
  • Coach, mentor, & develop all individual members on your team.
  • Shape, iterate, & scale our sales strategy, taking initiative to improve the team's practices, tools, & content.
  • Work collaboratively across sales, engineering, marketing, channel, product & customer success.


  • 5-7 years of meaningful leadership / relevant experience in a sales organization
  • Strong customer orientation, dedication, & passion for delivering a great customer experience
  • Ability to assess customer needs
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Collaborative & team oriented
  • Consistent track-record of team top performance & exceeding quota.
  • Experience selling into Engineering & IT preferred
  • Passion to lead & mentor a team
  • Resourceful, driven, results-oriented

  • Knowledge of Git & GitHub workflows

  • Ability to take initiative
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Flexible (ability to work across different time zones) & able to think quickly
