THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team in New York or Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be responsible for building out a business partnering team across the US business.  A combination of technical & leadership skills will be essential in ensuring that the team can consistently deliver, as well as continue to evolve in this fast-paced space. The position will report into the VP of Finance.  

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Manage the relationship with our retail state partners ensuring open & collaborative communications
  • Ability to build out & lead a highly efficient partnering team
  • Provide financial decision support (budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, identification of cost drivers) to ensure achievement of expense targets
  • Project manage new retail openings to include due diligence requests from regulators, launch requirements & the ability to be onsite for openings
  • Act as a business partner & intermediary between business stakeholders & the finance team
  • Ability to evaluate, understand, & summarize agreements with industry stakeholders to determine deliverables & appropriate performance indicators
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, annual business results, KPIs, trends, & critical business insights
  • Proactively provide quantified insights & propose solutions to areas of risk & opportunity to influence business strategy
  • Develop financial models to support management of operating plans
  • Conduct competitive analysis of retail space & maintain market place awareness
  • Improve operational efficiency by streamlining processes & enhance reporting as necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring successful completion within deadlines
  • Teamwork oriented- must be a team player & willing to help others while also fostering their help in return
  • Being the subject matter expert on retail contracts, have a comprehensive understanding of Sportsbook reporting & state tax regulations & requirements
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure contract nuances are reflected appropriately, revenue share statements are accurate & P/L review is robust
  • Proactively engage across all Finance teams in creating streamlined processes & striving for continuous improvement
  • Help scale the business as we continue to open in new states over the coming years

  • Exceptional organizational & communication skills
  • Minimum 7 years of experience (Preferably mix of Public & Private) 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field is preferred
  • A proven track record is building out a new team
  • Someone passionate about the industry & a proven track record is thriving in a similar fast paced environment
  • Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, & aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to decide & act without having the total picture & comfortable handling risk & uncertainty
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a variety of individuals in a constructive & collaborative manner
  • High level of energy & the desire to work in a fast-changing working environment
  • Strong Excel skills, & be comfortable with large data volume
