The person in this role will hire, lead, develop, & mentor our Solutions Engineering team members based in the Corporate AMER region. The ideal candidate will be people-focussed & passionate about building & developing GitHub's technical sales process & working with a wide range of adjacent teams to drive customer opportunities.


  • Manage GitHubs Solutions Engineering investments
  • Work in close partnership with Regional Sales Leadership
  • Be an active & respected technical participant & at times player coach in customer meetings
  • Attract & retain smart Solutions Engineers
  • Review & document performance of Solutions Engineers
  • Provide skills & role leadership, mentoring, & training to Solutions Engineers
  • Work with Product, Engineering & Services to document & communicate customer needs & product feedback
  • Participate in Sales forecast calls & pipeline review calls
  • Represent the company at various company events both onsite at GitHub Offices & at times at company events
  • Assist with all aspects of the technical sales cycle, including answering technical questions, Request for Proposals, Security Questionnaires & Workshops

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Team leadership experience
  • People-first philosophy & coaching mentality
  • 5+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer or equivalent customer-facing role
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle & competitive landscape
  • Dedication to delivering a great customer experience
  • Effective presentation crafting & delivery
  • Creative problem-solving in response to technical, product, & business questions
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Collaborative & team-oriented mindset for accomplishing goals
  • Passion for helping organizations improve & modernize their software development processes
  • Knowledge of the tools & history in the software development industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in a technical people management role
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise customers
  • Previous Software development, Engineering, or Technical Support experience
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Flexible schedule & ability to work across different time zones
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to improve the customer experience
  • Self-directed & resourceful with a growth mindset
