Away is a global lifestyle brand with a mission to transform travel through products & content that inspire people to get away more. In support of our mission, we are seeking a Principal Product Manager to join our Digital Product team. 

Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will have e-commerce experience, strong business acumen, & technical understanding to craft delightful experiences that drive conversion. You will report to the VP of Digital Product based in our New York City office.

What youll do:

  • Own, define, & drive cohesive, comprehensive & compelling product vision & strategy for a domain
  • Connect the dots between multiple business goals, user needs, market trends, & new or relevant digital technologies across devices & channels to build forward-thinking solutions that drive customer loyalty and/or operational efficiencies
  • Partner with the VP of Digital Product & the Chief Digital Officer to set & manage expectations of senior leaders & business partners across the organization
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering, UX, & key stakeholders like Creative, E-commerce, Customer Support, Brand, & Merchandising teams to create cohesive & engaging user experiences & the systems that support them
  • Drive product development from conceptualization through design, development, launch, & post-launch
  • Incorporate quantitative & qualitative data into product decision making
  • Define & track metrics to assess success & failure of projects, while ensuring the team & stakeholders are aligned on goals
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of other sites, apps, & products to continually identify ways to improve our user experience
  • Help mentor & demonstrate skills to assist the growth & maturation of the Product Management team.

Who you are:

  • 10-15 years digital product management experience

  • 3 years digital product management in consumer facing e-commerce products & platforms

  • A storyteller that can present a compelling narrative. Someone who can communicate effectively to both technical & non-technical stakeholders

  • An advocate for the customer & their experience on our site, leveraging data & research to ensure we are addressing their needs & solving their problems

  • Adept at using analytics tools to measure impact & surface valuable insights

  • Experience in large-scale enterprise-wide projects that include implementing or enhancing internal tools & customer-facing experiences 

  • Nimble & flexible; happy to work with a range of timelines & pivot when things dont go as planned

  • Comfortable making difficult decisions & being accountable for them.

  • Youre good at working with & through ambiguity to solve complex problems

  • Youre a self starter that is resourceful & able to act autonomously, with no fear of getting your hands dirty or to be the first to tackle a challenge

  • Someone who is proud of their past launches & the customer & business impact they had

  • Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced & ever-changing environment

  • Passionate about transforming travel (but thats a given!)

  • You can show proof of COVID-19 vaccination & adherence to HQ COVID office policies within 30 days of hire
