CIC is looking for a creative, personable, & organized individual to help support the marketing efforts of our Cambridge/Boston-based Events Team. This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for someone with at least 1-2 years of experience in a related role.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Overall, we like to employ service-minded people who are reliable, clever, & able to work independently. More specifically, we are looking for someone who possesses the following characteristics:
Personable & naturally enjoys helping others
Incredibly detail-oriented & organized with solid time management skills
Excellent writing & listening skills, & able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, vendors, & event hosts
Independent, trustworthy, & willing to learn
Calm in a very busy environment & confident when dealing with uncertainty & last minute changes
Creative & excited about trying new things with regards to our marketing & community building
Proficient in Illustrator & familiar with the rest of the Adobe suite (including InDesign & Premiere)
Experience with photography & website design/management are a plus


GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Creating & distributing internal & external CIC Events marketing materials (calendars, flyers, & event-related client resources) that showcase events taking place at CIC
Curating content on our event calendars on our website using Squarespace, & sharing events on CIC's client portal
Identifying publicity opportunities for our Massachusetts-based campus (events, media, partnerships) & acting as a mini-PR firm to celebrate & promote the good news from our clients
Compiling content for & writing our weekly CIC Massachusetts newsletter, which reaches 8,000 current & former CIC members. There will also be an opportunity to regularly contribute to our blog.
Creating compelling content on CIC's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
Promoting upcoming events happening at CIC using social media & community calendars
Managing CIC's presence at events happening outside CIC by vetting, scheduling, & coordinating staff participating
Developing & maintaining a positive & collaborative working relationship with new & existing partners in the innovation ecosystem; working with them & our Event Coordinators to create events of interest for the CIC community.
Identifying ways to track the event attendee & host pipeline
Collaborating with the Head of Events - MA & teammates on both the Events & Marketing teams on projects to improve event services.


REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
1-2 years of professional experience with (social media) marketing and/or events.
Experience with professional event coordination, community organizing, the innovation ecosystem, and/or community building strongly preferred.
A natural interest in helping/supporting others.
An interest in a long-term role. We are a growing company, & we like to hire people who can grow with us over the years.

Starting compensation is $49,232 per year plus 100% of the cost of a premium healthcare & dental package, long & short-term disability, life insurance, 401k matching after the first year of employment (must be 21+), & two weeks paid vacation plus twelve holidays from the start (more with seniority). Annual reviews with raises significantly above the national average every year for those on track with strong performance.
