Strong credit risk management will be a critical component of enabling innovative & responsible credit offerings across Wealthsimple's products. As a newly formed team, the Credit team will own the full lifecycle of our approach to credit from machine learning risk models, credit policy & extensible frameworks for lending decisions all while building a feedback loop to continuously improve our understanding of risk.

We envision that the Credit team will have people from diverse educational backgrounds: math, business operations, computer science & statistics with expertise in data science, credit analytics, product management & software engineering.

As we continue to expand our credit product offerings within the Canadian marketplace, doing so in a way that is responsible & resilient is paramount to the success of Wealthsimple. We are looking for a Director of Credit who will lead the team is building machine learning & data driven solutions to assess credit worthiness & build lending policies that help our clients meet their financial goals.

This individual will define & lead Wealthsimple's credit risk management strategy as a member of the risk leadership team. They will partner with leaders across the business to launch & deliver a best-in-class underwriting capabilities while effectively managing regulatory, financial & reputation risks to the business.

Wealthsimple is a fintech company which provides it with new & innovative data sources & techniques for assessing risk. In this role you will build a team of teams responsible for the end-to-end credit risk platform. You will provide technical mentorship to your team & act as a people lead, while reporting to the VP of Fraud & Risk.
