The Senior Program Manager is a highly visible stakeholder facing position within MAP PD ensuring planning, execution & monitor/control processes are aligned for effective delivery of critical, customer facing, enterprise class software development & infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will need to combine successful software development process experience with effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership, & technical skills. The Senior Program Manager will be accountable for timely & high quality execution & delivery of the global projects from original concept through final implementation. This position will work with teams that follow Agile as well as traditional methodologies, & will be responsible for significant programs of work across timezones & global teams to deliver on enterprise commercial software development commitments. The successful candidate will be required to:
Accountable for the end-to-end planning & execution of global programs of work, spanning multiple projects & distributed teams. Lead & negotiate, scope, schedule, budget, risks, deployments & communications for global initiatives.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional, highly complex programs across remote teams & multiple timezones.
Coach multiple teams through the software development life cycle using Agile, Scrum, & Lean practices & work cross-functionally throughout the company to ensure projects are developed & deployed with quality & timely delivery into our production systems.
Work with product owner to promote & contribute to the improvement of the product backlog.
Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-up meetings, reviews/demos, retrospectives, & other scrum ceremonies.
Facilitate discussion & conflict resolution.
Coach team in estimation techniques.
Ability to shield the team from outside distractions & interferences.
Ability to track & remove impediments for the team.
Develop metrics & reports using Rally to help the team understand its health & progress & to set goals.
Support discussion, decision making, & conflict resolution.
Coach team members to understand Scrum & the Agile Principles.
Influencing change that increases team performance at a sustainable pace.
Agile release planning ensure clear communication & collaboration among the Product Owner & members of the Development team.
Ask thoughtful questions to help our customers, Product Owners to maximize ROI & meet company objectives.
Understand product strategy & benefits of key deliverable in area of responsibility.
Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline OR Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline; year specialized experience as a Scrum Master.
Experience of running projects that span distributed teams across multiple timezones.
SME Knowledge of project management principles & Agile development methodologies.
Experience in diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, & theory.
Demonstrate thorough attention to detail, ability to think analytically & independently.
Ability to understand architectural & technical aspects of projects.
Hands-on experience of technical implementations of large scale, highly available, robust web/mobile & Payment Services applications.
Good skills & knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, & increasing transparency.
Strong communication & customer facing skills.
Self-starter with strong organization & resolution management skills, & ability to work independently
Experience with Agile Application Lifecycle Management & development tools like Rally, Confluence Wiki & JIRA.
