About the job

This position is needed on the Studio Runtime team to power the future of communications. Twilio Studio (https://www.twilio.com/studio) is our low-code visual application platform for building communication workflows. It's the fastest way to build & scale applications like IVRs & chatbots on Twilio. This is an opportunity to be part of the team that makes it easier for professional & citizen developers to build communication workflows & interfaces for Twilios customers.

Responsibilities

In this role, youll:

  • Perform analysis & design on components/systems medium to large scale
  • Contribute to Coding, code reviews, Patterns, CICD, Quality & Process improvements
  • Collaborate & partner with team members & stakeholders
  • Understand customer requirements & translate them into design specifications & coding
  • Cultivate & contribute to the culture of guidelines & standards
  • Empower & enable other team members to achieve their full potential
  • Operate at scale both system wide & team wide
  • Perform activities with team members distributed across the globe

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience with Java, Object Oriented Design & microservices
  • Experience working with & operating SQL databases, & NoSQL a plus
  • Experience with distributed systems & service-oriented architectures
  • Strong working experience with developing scalable systems on AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with & passion about providing technical leadership to team members. 
  • A bias toward automation, leveraging existing tools to ensure stable, clean, well-tested code gets deployed to production
  • Owned & operated services end-to-end, from debugging & testing to release management & monitoring
  • The ability to communicate well- in person, on paper, or in code. You can explain technical concepts to product managers, other engineers, & support
  • Empathy for your customers & teammates
  • You have 5+ years relevant work experience, or a relevant degree supplemented with experience in the field

 Desired:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Location 

This position is a remote role (East Coast preferred) but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.
