Netflix seeks an experienced Rights Counsel to evaluate & advise on chain of title in connection with the acquisition of intellectual property that underlies Netflix's content. This unique & exciting role sits on the Rights Team which is part of the larger Intellectual Property Team. The IP Team is an international group with members in offices around the globe who support creative excellence by managing the risks associated with Netflix's content from acquisition through distribution, & beyond.
As a member of the Rights Team, you will support vital components of our intellectual property practice, & be an integral resource for Netflix's business & creative teams. Your determinations directly impact the viability & valuation of potential acquisitions. Your rights experience allows you to make determinations around legal risk as it relates to ownership, rights, & obligations. Your copyright expertise allows you to confidently advise on material issues including termination, reversion, & public domain. Your expert eye for detail & exceptional organizational talents mean that you excel at quickly piecing together the jigsaw puzzle of a complex rights situation. You are comfortable working with incomplete information & ambiguous contractual terms. You are adept at pragmatically analyzing risk, & you confidently communicate across all levels of the business. You are passionate about the entertainment industry & excited to learn more about the business from a non-traditional perspective. You think outside the box, challenge long-standing assumptions, & look for opportunities to innovate. Your bias is toward collaboration, & responsiveness to change, feedback, & new ideas.
