Meet your Future Neighbors
In conjunction with product management & design, the engineering team at Nextdoor is responsible for bringing to life our mission of being the neighborhood hub for trusted connections & the exchange of helpful information, goods, & services. Working in small cross-functional teams, youll work in an agile environment that values code quality, learning quickly, & personal growth through collaboration & challenge.
You will collaborate with front end, back end, data science, infrastructure, & machine learning engineers to collectively improve the state of engineering at Nextdoor. All engineers are invited to join co-ops to facilitate continuous modernization & knowledge sharing.
The Impact Youll Make
We believe in empowering our teams to own all aspects of bringing Nextdoor to life. As such, youll get the opportunity to make key contributions across our engineering stack - this includes developing & improving frameworks across our frontend & backend services, in addition to making direct contributions to your teams product area.
Software Engineers at Nextdoor have a stake in all aspects of the product - from coming up with the next big ideas to build, to helping set expectations & plan roadmaps, to understanding the impact of new features through rigorous data analysis. What Youll Bring to The House
- 4+ years of Software Development experience
- Expertise in at least one server-side web application language. Python/Django, Go, or Java experience is a plus
- Experience within the AWS ecosystem preferred.
- Ability to design & implement heavily used services & systems
- Strong collaboration & communication skills, both verbal & written
- Strong desire to learn new technologies
- Ability to be flexible & adaptable in a dynamic startup environment
- Ability to mentor junior engineers across teams
